Wahaj Welfare Organization for Afghanistan is an independent, non-political, non-profit organization that serves some of Afghanistan's most vulnerable communities by providing educational, health, and psychosocial services in the areas of humanitarian aid, education and vocational training, health and hygiene, capacity building, awareness-raising, climate action, empowerment of women and youth, and agriculture.
WWOA exists to restore health, build skills, and renew hope for Afghanistan's women and children — through education, healthcare, and psychosocial support that meets people where they are.
Free medical camps, health education, and hygiene awareness for displaced and underserved communities.
Practical skills training — like sewing and tailoring — that helps women earn income and support their families.
Mental health and wellbeing sessions that strengthen confidence, self-esteem, and healthy coping strategies.
In September 2014, WWOA partnered with the local public health department, district administration, and community elders to bring free medical care to a displaced settlement in Kama district, Nangarhar — home to 200–250 displaced people living among a host community of over 1,200.
